About the role
The Operating System (OS) Administrator for Linux will support a large contract as a self-starter, installing and configuring the OS, resolving team issues via internal help desk tickets, and collaborating with third-party hosting teams. Windows experience is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure Linux operating systems from scratch, including disk layout, partitioning, OS installation, and package configuration.
- Provide operations support and resolve issues via internal help desk tickets.
- Troubleshoot network issues with a basic understanding of network concepts.
- Prepare and edit technical documentation.
- Automate day-to-day operations using bash, Perl, or Python scripting.
- Adhere to and implement OS security and STIG requirements.
- Interact effectively with customers, developers, and end-users.
- Work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience as an OS System Administrator, preferably in an AWS Cloud environment.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience with Linux environments.
- Minimum of 3+ years providing operations support.
- Ability to work with third-party hosting teams, preferably Cloud Service Providers.
- US Citizenship required.
- Must be willing to obtain an ADP I or ADP II clearance.
- Ability to obtain a Security+ certification within 6 months of hire date.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university (or 10 years of equivalent experience).
Skills

- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Desired Skills
- Windows System Administrator experience.
- Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or other automation tools.
- Experience developing processes and procedures in AWS environments.
- Experience with SELinux, EC2 instances, OS backups, restores, and patching.
- Experience with security aspects of architecture and operating systems.

Pay
The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is $125,000 to $140,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
