Linux System Administrator

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain RHEL-based Linux systems, ensuring performance, security, and compliance with NSA auditing and logging requirements
• Administer and support OpenNMS Meridian for monitoring, including setup of distributed monitoring, thresholds, and alarms
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across Linux, network, and Windows environments in collaboration with Tier 1–3 teams
• Implement and manage logging, auditing, and automation using tools such as Splunk
• Support system lifecycle management including patching, configuration, documentation, and ATO accreditation processes

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Linux system administration within secure or enterprise environments
• Strong experience with RHEL, systemd, package management, kernel tuning, firewall tools (firewalld/iptables), and OpenNMS
• Proficiency in CLI-based troubleshooting, networking fundamentals, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and basic scripting (Bash/Python)
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Active Secret clearance and CompTIA Security+ certification required
