About the Opportunity

TalentoHC is partnering with a leading travel and tourism organization seeking a System Administrator, IT Services to join its global IT team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, and reliability of core infrastructure and end-user computing — keeping employees productive across headquarters and global offices. Unlike the cloud/network/security-focused counterpart role, this position is centered on hands-on infrastructure support across VMware virtualization, Citrix Cloud, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID, endpoint management, and telephony. The ideal candidate pairs solid technical depth with strong customer service instincts and a commitment to clear documentation and reliable follow-through.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & Virtualization
    • Administer and maintain the on-premises VMware vSphere environment (ESXi, vCenter) — VM provisioning, storage, snapshots, host patching, and performance troubleshooting
    • Administer Citrix Cloud environment including virtual desktops, delivery groups, machine catalogs, image updates, and end-user session troubleshooting
    • Provision, patch, monitor, and maintain Windows Server and select Linux servers on-premises and in Azure/AWS, including backup verification
    • Manage backup and recovery jobs across VMs, Microsoft 365, and file servers; verify successful completion and perform periodic restore tests
  • Microsoft 365 & Identity
    • Administer Microsoft 365 services — Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive — including mailbox management, distribution lists, licensing, and collaboration configuration
    • Administer Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID — user and group lifecycle, Group Policy, Conditional Access, MFA, and hybrid identity synchronization
    • Manage Windows and macOS endpoints via Microsoft Intune — enrollment, compliance policies, software deployment, patch management, and remote remediation
    • Administer iOS and Android mobile devices via Intune
  • End-User Support & Onboarding
    • Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for employees across headquarters and global offices via ITSM ticketing system, resolving escalations within agreed SLAs
    • Own IT onboarding and offboarding — account creation, license assignment, virtual desktop entitlements, equipment provisioning/imaging, and timely deprovisioning
    • Support audiovisual and meeting-room technology including Microsoft Teams Rooms and conference room AV
    • Coordinate with vendors and MSPs (VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, Lenovo, Apple, ISPs) for procurement, warranty service, and support cases
  • Telephony & Networking
    • Administer 8x8 telephony — user provisioning, call routing, ring groups, voicemail, and call-quality troubleshooting
    • Support Cisco network infrastructure including switches, routers, wireless, and VPN; perform first-line troubleshooting and partner with the network team for changes beyond scope
    • Support core office infrastructure — LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls — and maintain reliable connectivity across locations
  • Security & Documentation
    • Enforce IT hygiene standards in partnership with Security — MFA enrollment, EDR/AV, encryption, USB policy, phishing remediation, and least-privilege access
    • Perform regular patching and vulnerability remediation across hypervisors, servers, network devices, and endpoints
    • Maintain accurate IT asset records — hardware inventory, software and cloud licensing, warranty tracking, and decommissioning
    • Document procedures, runbooks, and knowledge-base articles; keep documentation current as the environment evolves

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in system administration or infrastructure support beyond Tier 1 Help Desk
  • Hands-on experience administering VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) in a production environment
  • Hands-on experience administering Citrix Cloud / Virtual Apps and Desktops (DaaS)
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Active Directory/Entra ID including hybrid identity
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and AWS for server, identity, networking, and storage administration
  • Hands-on experience administering 8x8 or comparable cloud telephony/UCaaS platforms
  • Working knowledge of Cisco networking — switching, routing, wireless, and VPN
  • Working knowledge of endpoint management via Microsoft Intune or comparable MDM/UEM
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for routine administration and automation
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail

Preferred Certifications

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV)
  • Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V)
  • Cisco CCNA
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+
  • Microsoft AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) or SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator)
  • ITIL 4 Foundation
