System Administrator
About the role
This position supports administration, configuration, and maintenance of complex, enterprise-capable server environments at Lackland AFB. The role involves integration, deployment, and sustainment activities, system maintenance, patching, troubleshooting, capacity management, monitoring, and reporting. It also includes hardware and software procurement assistance, documentation, and technical exchanges.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite administration support, configuration, and maintenance of Government/DoD complex enterprise capable server environments at Lackland AFB during normal duty hours (0630 – 1800)
- Support the product implementation through integration, deployment, and sustainment activities within the customer site enterprise
- Maintain and manage system operations, including patching, advanced troubleshooting, capacity management, monitoring, and reporting
- Assist with hardware and software procurement, ensuring proper documentation for equipment and media delivery
- Participate in technical exchanges and implement solutions to identify and resolve system problems
- Document processes and procedures for implementation on local networks
- Attend training to understand new features and learn best practices for administering, configuring, and maintaining multiple applications and websites
- Provide technical recommendations and experience in OpenShift technology
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field
- 4+ years of relevant experience
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Linux/RHEL and Kubernetes experience
- Storage device (SAN/NAS) experience
- Windows Server experience
- High-performance computing (HPC) experience
- CompTIA Security+ CE Certification
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification
- Experience with OpenShift Linux environment
- Ability to support flexible (on call) duty hours and shift work, including holidays, mission essential, and inclement weather
- Able to go TDY for training requirements (to meet all certifications/qualifications)
Qualifications
- Ability to maintain working knowledge of information assurance practices within Air Force (AF), Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) systems

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

The anticipated salary range for this position based out of San Antonio, TX is estimated at $110,000 to $127,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs. Benefits include:

Pay
Market competitive salary range: $110,000 - $127,000 annually
Schedule
Flexible (on call) duty hours and shift work, including holidays, mission essential, and inclement weather. Able to work during inclement weather and be called in even if weekly hours have been or will be exceeded.
