About the role
Assist in the daily operations of the Summer Youth Enrichment Program. Group Leaders are responsible for the assigned participants in their group at all times and other participants when needed and outlined by supervisory staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage the basic behavior of their group during learning activities, various special classes, field trips and guest presentations following provided program rules and behavior plans.
- Facilitate provided 7 Habits and Lit Camp curriculum and teach or assist in teaching a Choice Class.
Requirements
- High School Diploma with 2-3 years of work-related experience in the areas of Elementary Education and/or child care.
- Self-motivated; exhibits strong initiative and time management skills as well as good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of cultural flexibility, competency in working with multi-cultural participants and experience working with inner-city and un-churched youth is required.
- Detail-oriented, logical thinker, motivated self-starter and able to work independently on assigned projects.
- Ability to adapt and change to meet the needs of the organization and the community.
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
- PA State Police Criminal Record Check.
- FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
- Valid National Sex Offender Registry Clearance.
- TB Test.
- Health Physical to meet DHS compliance for licensed School Age Centers.
- Complete 10 hours Health and Safety Training.
- Mandated Reporter training on recognizing and reporting child abuse.
