SY26-27 Substitute Teacher

Duties And Responsibilities

• Report to the school secretary upon arrival at the school
• Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and the classroom to which they are assigned
• Teach the lesson outlined and planned by the absent teacher
• Consult with appropriate administrator(s) before changing any teaching or other procedures
• Assume responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in the classroom
• Report in writing any pertinent information on the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching day
• Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures
• Follow Federal and State laws, as well as Board policies
• Perform other duties as may be assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate
• Preferred qualifications include: Valid Georgia Teaching Certification; or Out-of-State Teaching Certification; or the equivalent of at least two years of eligible post-secondary college credit (all college credit shall be evaluated from an official transcript received from an accredited institute of higher learning, the credit must reflect a grade of “C” or above)

Compensation

• Substitute Teacher: $18.75/HR, $150.00/DY (8 hour day)
• Substitute Paraprofessional: $13.33/HR, $99.98/DY (7.5 hour day)
