Overview Bridge Boston Charter School is a tuition-free, K1-8 public school serving 335 students in Roxbury, Massachusetts, and the surrounding community– many of whom have experienced social, emotional, and developmental barriers to learning. Bridge Boston’s robust social-emotional program is designed with an eye to supporting students who have experienced trauma in their homes and communities. THE POSITION Reporting to the Director of Extended Day, the Extended Group Leader will Responsibilities & Duties Work all days of the program Occasionally supervise field tripsResponsible for ongoing communication with families and Extended Day DirectorParticipate in a pre-program orientation and post-program wrap-upIndependently create interactive, and engaging learning experiencesWork Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 3pm-6:15pmEnrichment planning Support direct instruction to students individually, in small groups, and in classroom settingsEstablish a productive learning environment and classroom culture in which all students are respectedUnderstand and implement culturally and linguistically sustaining practicesAssist with classroom management; enforce discipline code and assist with dismissal Qualifications High School DiplomaExperience with working with a diverse population of students, especially historically marginalized student groups, such as Black and brown students, students with disabilities, and English Language LearnersHave a “self-starter” and team player attitude – working to address and resolve issues with a team focusEffective communication skills with families, staff, and students Adaptive, flexible, and resourceful problem solverCustomer-service orientationStrong work ethic and sense of urgencyDetail-oriented and organizedLife-long learner; willingness to make and learn from mistakes; interest in learning new thingsValues diversity and demonstrates cultural competence and sensitivity Compensation $32/hr TO APPLY The review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
