The Role
Nuasin Next Generation Charter School seeks a K-8th grade teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering intellectual growth and creating a nurturing environment for students.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Develop workflows, effective lesson plans, and tests that align with established procedures.
- Instruct and monitor scholars in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Create a classroom culture that emphasizes high academic and behavioral expectations while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Utilize restorative practices to build strong relationships with scholars, families, and staff.
- Effectively intellectually prepare for all units, lessons, and assessments by utilizing provided materials and adapting them to fit the curriculum.
- Engage scholars intellectually by maintaining high levels of rigor, intellectual curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning.
- Use formal and informal assessment data to drive instruction, ensure mastery, and adjust as necessary.
- Participate in grade-level meetings, content team meetings, collaborative planning, data analysis, and action planning.
- Innovate, challenge, and push for excellence with scholars every day.
- Act as an active leader by participating in daily advisories, homerooms, and culture blocks.
- Proactively communicate with families using effective communication techniques.
- Participate in professional development opportunities that promote continuous reflection, adjustment, and growth.
- Take ownership of academic and social progress, working actively to ensure constant advancement and overcoming setbacks.
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, scholars, school leadership, and teachers.
- Participate in various meetings (e.g., grade level, data, coaching, professional growth) to drive scholar achievement.
- Advise parents or legal guardians on scholar progress, including achievements, methods for improvement, and reinforcement of classroom goals in the home environment.
Requirements
Successful candidates will have a bachelor's degree in education or a related field, as well as certification to teach in New York State. Experience teaching K-8th grade is preferred, but not required. A strong commitment to progressive education principles and a passion for making a difference in students' lives are essential.

Pay
The anticipated salary range for a K-8th grade teacher at Nuasin Next Generation Charter School is $70,000.00 to $130,000.00, depending on experience, education, and certifications. Nuasin does not currently cap salary ranges.
Schedule
Candidates will work a full-time schedule, typically 40 hours per week, with the possibility of part-time options based on individual needs and qualifications.
