About the role

Nuasin Next Generation Charter School implements a progressive K-12 educational program and is committed to cultivating scholars’ innate intellectual talents to empower graduates to achieve excellence in their postsecondary paths and make positive impacts on the broader community. We are seeking mission-aligned educators who believe in the talent and intellectual capabilities of our scholars and are excited to engage them in deep intellectual engagement, problem-solving, and a complex understanding of academic content.

Responsibilities

• Design curriculum to meet state standards
• Master knowledge of specific subject areas being taught
• Adapt lesson plans as needed to address different learning levels
• Prepare class activities to supplement material and engage students
• Observe individual student performance and progress; report observations to parents and school administrators
• Plan lessons and instruct students in the subject being taught
• Assess students’ abilities, strengths, and weaknesses
• Adapt lessons to changes in class size
• Grade students’ assignments and exams
• Communicate with parents about students’ progress
• Work with individual students to challenge them and improve their abilities
• Prepare students for standardized tests required by the state
• Develop and enforce classroom rules and administrative policies
• Supervise students outside of the classroom (e.g., during lunchtime or detention)

Qualifications

• At least a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education
• New York Teaching certification
• Supervised classroom experience

Pay

The anticipated salary range is $72,000.00 to $120,000.00 for a candidate working in New York City. Nuasin does not currently cap salary ranges. The salary offered will depend on factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, education, and certifications.
