2026-2027 SPED Teacher

The Cognitive Support Teacher position at Dos Rios Elementary School is available starting July 16, 2026.

About the role

This role supports students with cognitive needs through individualized instruction and classroom accommodations. The teacher works closely with special education teachers and other school staff to ensure that students receive appropriate support and interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction to students with cognitive needs
• Implement classroom accommodations as recommended by special education teachers
• Collaborate with special education teachers and other school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid California teaching credential in Special Education
• Experience working with students with cognitive needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
