Responsibilities

Job Requirements
- At least 21 years of age or older.
- Fingerprinted and undergo state, local, and national criminal records check.
- Not on court-ordered community supervision or probation for any criminal offense.
- Not convicted of a Class B misdemeanor or above within the last ten (10) years.
- Not convicted of any prior felonies.
- Of good moral character.
- Pass a thorough, comprehensive background investigation and interview.
- A high school graduate or equivalent, or have twelve (12) semester hours credit from an accredited college or university.
- Pass state medical, mental, polygraph, and drug testing requirements.
- Have an insurable driving record according to the city’s insurance policy.
- No prior DWI convictions.
- Not left employment with any agency under less than honorable conditions.
- Hold a Texas Peace Officer’s license through TCOLE prior to participation in any law enforcement duties.
- Hold a valid Texas driver's license.
- Able to obtain Emergency Care Attendant (ECA) certification within 18 months of hire date, or as reasonable within scheduling constraints per Police Chief approval.
Qualifications
- Eligible for additional pay for certifications that are above and beyond the requirements of the position.
- Up to $1000 per year in tuition reimbursement.
- Up to $4,800 year in certification/differential pay.

Pay
Base Salary: $78,668.37
Base Eligible Salary + Eligible Overtime + Max Certification/Differential Pay Eligible: $89,481.75
Certification/Differential Pay Eligible up to $4,800 per year on receiving qualified certifications.
