Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, test and inspect complex electrical switchgear systems
- Operate on all types of test equipment
- Inspect, test and maintain complex low, medium and high voltage electrical power distribution equipment
- Prepare reports, make repair/replacement recommendations, and explain inspection results
- Work in compliance with operating policies and procedures
Qualifications and Competencies
- Knowledge on how to operate and interpret readings from an insulation resistance test, ratio, primary and secondary injection, hi-pot, etc.
- NETA Certification preferred
- A minimum of six years of low and medium voltage switchgear testing and repair
- Experience with low and medium voltage pad mount transformers
- Able to read and interpret drawings/diagrams and specifications (electrical, mechanical and connection)
- Strong oral and written communication and analytical skills
- Able to work with minimal direction or supervision
- Able to work flexible hours, overtime and weekends as required, willingness to be on call
