Switchboard Operator - Registry

Duties

• Quickly respond to all emergency systems and calls according to policy and procedure.
• Operate SPOK, CBX, Emergency Code Phone, and Console to relay incoming and outgoing calls.
• Operate overhead paging system along with other communication related equipment and information technology systems such as Everbridge, SnapComm, Fire Alarm Detection System, Cuddles Infant/Child monitoring System and, National Weather Service Radio.
• Communicates with Facilities and Security teams during system alarms and emergency procedures.
• Communications Answer calls in a courteous and prompt manner using established scripting.
• Transfers calls to the correct party according to Policy and Procedure.
• Issues emergency alerts, notifications, and stat pages according to Policy and Procedure; maintains calm manner during emergency situations.

Requirements

• High school graduate / G.E.D. diploma required.
• Previous communications/telecommunications experience preferred.
• Typing experience and P.C. familiarity required.
• Experience in various IT applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams preferred.
• Pleasant and effective verbal communication skills necessary.
• Ability to work at a fast pace under pressure with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to multi-task.
