Switchboard Operator PT Days Weekends
Job Summary
The Switchboard Operator acts as the information center for the hospital by answering and routing incoming calls, providing customer assistance, and recording and relaying messages to the appropriate people. They are also responsible for paging authorized personnel over the public address and paging systems. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task, while handling a high call volume. The Switchboard Operator communicates with external customers and responds to emergency calls following established protocols. In addition, they maintain and update schedules necessary to respond to emergencies and update AMCOM database and pagers as necessary.

Job Essentials
- Requires a minimum of two years call center representative experience in a healthcare environment
- Working knowledge of computer skills required for data entry
- Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality and a strong attention to detail
- Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Must understand and carry out all Codes and Disaster Procedures
- Must learn and adhere to Telecommunications and EHMC policies
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
Pay
The minimum rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.
