Swing Shift Mutuel Clerk - Part Time (Harrah's Hoosier Park)

Key Job Functions

• Greets customers
• Inputs betting information into computer
• Prints ticket
• Accepts money and gives ticket and change to customers
• Maintains bank
• Verifies winning tickets
• Handles and solves any concerns and questions by customers
• Explains wagering information when needed
• Maintains and updates Betting Boards or Televisions for customers to view
• Provides customers with a list of scratches for tracks or results for races
• Cash/sells vouchers
• Maintains attendance guidelines
• Cashes/cancels tickets as necessary
• Performs duties as assigned of a Mutuel Teller and Sportsbook Writer

Qualifications

• High School diploma required
• At least 6 months previous cash handling experience required
• Sports enthusiast with an interest in horse racing and sports activities
• Mathematically inclined and able to pass a math test
• Demonstrated ability of good handwriting skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work any day and any shift
• Ability to get along with co-workers and work as a team
• Well-groomed appearance
• Diverse, fast-paced, deadline driven, multi-project coordination, prioritizing and flexibility to accommodate last minute requests and changes
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflicts

Physical Demands

• Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (minimum 4-6 hours)
• Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator
• Responds to visual and aural cues
• Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment
• Must be able to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke, dust, loud noises, and bright lights
• Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
