Swing Maintenance
40-hour work week with the option of Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday as an off day. The off day will be in effect for one calendar year from the date of choice.
Normal hourly schedule will be 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with the availability for early call-in in case of snow or other emergency. Seasonal hour adjustments as assigned by the Building and Grounds Manager. Saturday hours will be announced the Friday before to maintain proper building coverage.
About the Role
Assists groundsman in routine outdoor maintenance. Assists in preparing playing fields prior to athletic/physical education use. Assists with snow removal operations. Participates in district-sponsored training programs to update knowledge and skills. Responsible for building security as required. Performs other duties as assigned by the Building and Grounds Manager.
Requirements
- Possess or be capable of securing and maintaining a commercial driver’s license.
- Skilled in the use of mechanical equipment.
- Ability to repair equipment according to instruction manuals and follow district maintenance schedules.
- Possess or be capable of securing and maintaining the Illinois Department of Agriculture applicator license.
- Possess safety habits, skills, and insight while performing maintenance work.
- Familiar with swimming pool maintenance.
- Capable of understanding instructions and physically able to perform assigned tasks.
Working Conditions
Works under the supervision of the Building and Grounds Manager.
Pay
Salary and benefits established by the agreement between the Board of Education and the District 211 Operations Maintenance Group (O & M – Salary Schedules).
