General Maintenance Mechanic - Swings

About the role

Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on all assigned packaging equipment throughout the Packaging Area. This includes but is not limited to: Ossid wrap machines, processors, tray de-nesters, baggers, padders, de-boning equipment, clip machines, strappers, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems (overhead, belt, chain, auger), plumbing systems (air, water, hydraulic), welding systems (arc, heli-arc, cutting torch). Also involves working with blueprints/schematics. Generate work orders, store requisitions, and report all deficiencies in a timely manner. Successfully complete all training as required by the company and/or government regulations.

Requirements

• Prefer 5 years' experience in poultry processing maintenance or a related field
• Ability to troubleshoot effectively and perform on-the-spot corrections in emergency situations
• Proficient in welding (arc, heli-arc methods) and using a cutting torch
• Good written and oral English language communication skills
• Willingness to cross-train in the Processing Maintenance area
• Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends as required
• Must pass a mechanical test to determine skill levels
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Trained in lock-out tag-out and safe work practices
• Ability to bend, stoop, walk, and stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to climb and work from ladders and in confined spaces safely
• Ability to work from high altitudes, catwalks, and roofs
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds
• Ability to work on wet concrete floors
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and times dictated by production equipment needs
• Must pass a criminal background check

Pay

$23.50 to $35.50 per hour. Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am.
