Fabrication Maintenance Mechanic - Swings

About the role

Foster Farms is seeking a Mechanical and Machine Maintenance Technician to support operations at our Livingston Plant. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of building and facilities maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Pay Range: $23.50 to $31.75 per hour. (Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am).
• Provide mechanical and machine maintenance and fabrication support to the Livingston Plant.
• Fabricate and repair equipment from blueprints and sketches (e.g. tables, conveyers, etc.).
• Operate lathe and milling machine.
• Weld using an arc, a heli-arc and gas.
• General cleaning and/or assisting other areas as needed and to maintain safety, housekeeping and follow proper sanitary procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of five (5) years of building and facilities maintenance experience.
• Must have good written and verbal English communications skills.
• Must be able to interact positively with Plant Production and Maintenance personnel to resolve maintenance issues.
• Must be able and willing to work rotating Tuesday - Saturday work weeks.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be trained in lock-out tag-out and safe work practices.
• Must be able to bend, stoop walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to climb and work from ladders and in confined spaces safely.
• Must be able to work from high altitudes, catwalks and roofs.
• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work on wet concrete floors.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and times dictated by production equipment requirements/needs.
• Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check.

Skills

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in operating various types of machinery and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
