Responsibilities

  • Record examination, testimony, judicial opinions, and judge's charge to jury, judgment or sentence of court or other proceedings in a court of law using shorthand, a stenotype machine or audiotape.
  • Read portions of transcript during trial on judge's request and ask speakers to clarify inaudible statements.

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Equivalent to three years of experience in a courtroom environment taking and transcribing verbal testimony.
  • Candidates must be CCR and/or RPR certified.

Parental Leave
