Swine Specialist - VISA TN (candidates from Mexico and Canada Only)

This position is for TN Visas only, which means you must originate from Canada or Mexico.

Locations: Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Missouri, and Arizona.

About the Role

The Pig Specialist is a key member of a team responsible for the daily care and well-being of all animals to achieve farm production goals.

Responsibilities

• Feed and water animals, clean and disinfect pens and stables.
• Label animals for identification.
• Move animals, while using appropriate personal protective equipment, through breeding, gestation, and farrowing phases into appropriate stables and pens.
• Monitor sows during farrowing and provide assistance during the birthing process.
• Ensure piglets are cared for according to the warming box, treatment, and nurse sow policies.
• Process piglets by tail docking, injecting, and castrating.
• Administer vaccines according to the health protocol to protect animals from diseases.
• Identify animals of age and weight to be weaned and transported to customers.
• Observe animals in heat to detect boar approach.
• Artificially inseminate sows.
• Maintain accurate records of animal identification, breeding, farrowing, and treatment procedures.
• Attend meetings and training as required.
• Adhere to all biosecurity policies and protocols to ensure animal health.
• Control ventilation to ensure adequate airflow for animal comfort.
• Maintain proper hygiene in facilities.
• Perform minor repairs on equipment, buildings, stables, and pens.
• Perform any other task assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Mexican citizenship.
• Degree and professional license in an agricultural field (e.g., Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Science, General Agronomy, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Engineering, or related field).
• Professional transcript (Kardex profesional).
• Passport with a minimum validity of 3 years.
• No prior experience or English-speaking ability required.
