Swimming Teacher

About the role

Your role is to help teach and coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique, and confidence in the water. You will work on a successful learn to swim programme, delivering a range of lessons to children and adults. You will plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer, identify participants' abilities, and encourage them to reach their full potential. You will correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance for the individual swimmers. You will be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a range of lessons to children and adults.
  • Create lesson plans aligned with the scheme of work.
  • Identify and encourage participants' abilities and potential.
  • Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques.
  • Correct faults in swimming techniques and offer improvement suggestions.
  • Create a positive and motivating environment for swimmers.
  • Award appropriate certificates based on participants' progress.
  • Regularly assess each participant's ability and progress.

Requirements

  • An enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and inspire confidence and motivation.
  • The ability to encourage people and put them at ease.
  • An understanding of how to differentiate in a coaching session.

Qualifications

No specific qualifications are required, but applicants should have a passion for swimming and a strong desire to teach and coach others.

Pay

£28,031 - £32,080 per annum
