Swim Lesson Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY

Under supervision of the Aquatics Director and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA. The Swim Lesson Instructor is responsible for providing swimming instruction using National Aquatic YMCA Programs and ensuring safety of the students at all times. The Swim Lesson Instructor will assist the Aquatic Director with various branch activities such as special events, and other activities that occur on various occasions. The Program Director schedules and assigns group lessons.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older
• Certified in YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor (within first 60 days of employment) or American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
• Temporary pay rate of $10/hour until certification requirements are met
• Certified in Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid and Administering Emergency Oxygen
• Exhibit a stable temperament and a high degree of maturity
• Communicate with people of all levels
• Have a positive attitude and desire to achieve the mission of the Upper Palmetto YMCA

Pay Range

$13 - $22 per hour
