Swim Instructor (Water Safety)

Responsibilities

• Create and implement lesson plans for assigned classes
• Maintain the safety of students in assigned classes
• Teach lessons to students from 6 months of age and up based on appropriate Red Cross skills
• Communicate effectively with both students and parents
• Input all class information into the Red Cross Learning Center for assigned classes
• Maintain swimming abilities to a level 4 standard in all 6 strokes
• Auxiliary with tasks as needed

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age
• Must be able to swim all 6 strokes at a demonstration quality level
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification - preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Red Cross Lifeguard certification - preferred
