Swim Instructor - McCordsville

Swim Instructor position focused on delivering safe, effective lessons and maintaining high professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate student performance and progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and the Aquatics Supervisor
• Track attendance in Club Automation
• Ensure all teaching tools are in good working condition
• Implement ground rules for each swim session
• Respond to all emergency situations per facility policy and procedures
• Maintain all annual education requirements (CBL’s) and BLS/CPR certifications
• Maintain a high level of professionalism in accordance with organizational standards of behavior
• Be knowledgeable, aware of, and proficient in all facility rules, regulations, and policies, enforcing them when applicable
• Perform safe and effective swim lessons
• Assume other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Communication Skills: Notify supervisor of coverage needs for classes, check HWC Email weekly, and provide exceptional customer service to members
• Adaptability: Flexible to the needs of members from all backgrounds, delivering experiences at appropriate levels, and maintaining a positive outlook during schedule changes
• Growth Mindset: Actively grow clientele and provide evidence of growth
• Time Management: Arrive before lesson start time for setup, stay after for teardown, and attend scheduled meetings
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrate initiative, and prioritize job functions effectively
• Exhibit tact and professionalism when interacting with members, guests, and staff
• Communicate clearly using both written and oral English
• Encourage and hold members accountable to achieve their wellness goals

Requirements

• CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) certification (required)
• BLS (Basic Life Saving)/CPR certification (required within 90 days of hire)
• 1+ years of recent experience in a similar role (preferred)
• Mandatory continuing education in: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Corporate Compliance (including Confidentiality), Infection Control, and other education required by regulatory or accreditation bodies
