Key Responsibilities
- Teach safe, effective, and age-appropriate swim lessons for beginner through advanced levels.
- Follow established class formats while adapting instruction to meet individual student needs.
- Provide clear feedback, encouragement, and skill modifications to support student progress.
- Arrive before class and stay afterward to assist participants and answer parent questions.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere for all swimmers.
- Actively monitor the pool area to prevent hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Help clean, organize, and maintain the pool deck and equipment before and after lessons.
- Collaborate with the Aquatics Coordinator to enhance lesson plans and develop new offerings.
- Promote and assist with other facility programs and special events as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, required training, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum age: 17.
- Prior experience in swim instruction, swim team coaching, youth sports, or aquatics programming required.
- Required certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).
- Preferred certifications: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or equivalent Learn-to-Swim training experience.
