Qualifications
- 16 years of age and good health
Responsibilities
- Rescuer/AED certification required
- Lifeguard Training and Lifeguard Training Instructor preferred
- Basic Computer Skills desired
- One year pool experience
- Prior job-related experiences will be considered
- Supervises Assists the Pool Manager and Head Instructor in the supervision of Pool Aides and Volunteers
- Position Responsibility To instruct the assigned swimming classes as directed by the Pool Manager
- Performance Duties The duties of the instructor shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Supervise students of swimming classes in the pool and designated locker room.
- Instruct swimming classes as directed by the Pool Manager or Head Instructor according to the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor's Manual
- Maintain records for each student
- Submit the test results of each student to the Pool Manager at the conclusion of each two-week session.
- Evaluate the individual performance for each student, complete course record forms and distribute each student's certification.
- Prepare a written lesson plan as directed by the Pool Manager or the Head Instructor
- Return all equipment to its proper location at the conclusion of each class.
- Attend staff and/or in-service meetings as assigned by the Pool Manager
