Swim Instructor

Responsibilities

• Teach swim skills to kids and adults, helping them gain confidence in the water.
• Deliver excellent customer service to members and guests.
• Serve as a Swim League Instructor, teaching pre‑swim team kids.
• Support child abuse prevention: report health or safety hazards, follow all child‑safety policies and procedures, report suspicious behavior or policy violations, and complete required child abuse prevention training.

Requirements

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Hold current YMCA Swim Lessons or ARC Water Safety Instructor certification, plus CPR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certification; or successfully complete the YMCA’s Aquatics Academy training program to obtain certification.
• Demonstrate passion for working with diverse youth and the ability to provide high‑quality, age‑appropriate instruction.
• Meet the physical qualifications required for certification in this role.
