About the role

The Swim Instructor position supports the work of the YMCA of Collier County, Inc., a leading not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the communities in Collier County through its core focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Teach and lead specific skills and activities in the water.
• Build community and modify as needed to meet varied health, ability, and cultural needs.
• Create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Competency to teach and lead specific skills and activities in the water.
• Ability to build community and modify as needed to meet varied health, ability, and cultural needs.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and promoting healthy living.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Swimming instructor certification preferred.
• First aid and CPR certifications required.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Pay

$15 - $18 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Variety of shifts available including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
