About the role
At SafeSplash Swim School, our mission is to teach water safety while building confidence and developing lifelong swimming skills. We provide year-round swim lessons for infants, children, and adults in a fun, structured, and supportive environment. We are looking for dependable, energetic, and confident Swim Instructors who are passionate about working with children and making a positive impact every day. This position also serves as an Operations Assistant, offering opportunities to develop leadership skills while supporting the daily operations of the swim school. Responsibilities
- Teach swim lessons for students ages 4 months through adults.
- Teach swimmers of all abilities using the SafeSplash curriculum.
- Ensure lessons are safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
- Maintain accurate student progress and skill tracking.
- Step in to cover classes when needed.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Support fellow instructors throughout your shift.
- Assist with training and onboarding new instructors.
- Help maintain consistent lesson quality.
- Communicate staffing concerns and operational issues to management.
- Welcome swimmers and families.
- Build positive relationships with parents.
- Answer questions professionally and courteously.
- Communicate schedule changes and important updates when necessary.
- Operate with scheduling and attendance.
- Report facility, equipment, or safety concerns promptly.
- Help prepare locations for quality assurance visits.
- Support general day-to-day swim school operations.
Requirements
- Must be able to swim all four competitive strokes: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Professional, friendly, and confident.
- Comfortable working with infants, children, teens, and adults.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to remain calm under pressure.
- Willingness to learn new systems and teaching techniques.
- Comfortable taking initiative and working independently.
- Willing to obtain Lifeguard and other required certifications if requested.
- Certification reimbursement available after successful completion.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Swim Instructor, Lifeguard, or Water Safety Instructor.
- Experience coaching sports or teaching physical education.
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques.
- Experience working in aquatic facilities, recreation centers, gyms, or health clubs is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Pay
$14.00–$16.50 per hour (based on experience).
Schedule
Monday through Friday: Afternoon and evening shifts
Saturday: Morning through early afternoon (required)
