Responsibilities
- Teach 1–4 students per class using hands-on instruction and the FOSS Swim Path curriculum.
- Create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students build confidence, skills, and lifelong water safety habits.
- Build strong relationships with students and families by celebrating progress, sharing updates, and creating an experience that keeps swimmers motivated and families confident.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to support school goals and ensure every student receives exceptional instruction.
- Take ownership of each lesson by preparing, adapting, and helping swimmers achieve their goals.
- Observe student performance, recognize safety risks, and maintain awareness of multiple students at all times.
- Bring energy, enthusiasm, and purpose to every class while helping students reach important milestones.

Requirements
- Must be 18+ years old.
- Can lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a warm indoor pool.
- Enjoy working with children and helping others succeed.
- Build trust through reliability, positivity, and professionalism.
- Communicate clearly and connect easily with students, families, and teammates.
- Thrive in a collaborative, inclusive, and customer-focused environment.
- Adapt quickly and bring energy to every lesson.
- Eager to learn and grow as a teacher.
Qualifications
- Basic swim strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
- Safely move throughout the pool and remain active in water up to 4 feet deep while teaching, supervising students, and responding to safety situations.
- Read and comprehend written and digital training materials and use a computer to complete online training courses, videos, reading assignments, and assessments.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and other movements required to teach and assist students.
- Work safely around pool chemicals, industrial equipment, and other supplies commonly found in an aquatic facility.

Pay
Hourly starting at $19.50+ other earning potential. Compensation includes weekend shifts (+$3.00/hour) and substitute shifts (+$1.00/hour).
Schedule
Part-time, year-round schedule with a minimum of 12 hours per week. Typically, 3 shifts per week, each shift is approximately 4 hours. Weekday evening shifts starting around 3:30 p.m. Weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday).
