Swim Instructor

Qualifications

• Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid (American Red Cross preferred).
• Swimming skills are necessary and must be effectively demonstrated prior to employment.
• Must be able to communicate with students in a pool environment.

Responsibilities

• Teaches "Learn to Swim" lessons and/or exercise classes.
• Maintains a safe environment to teach in.
• Provides routine customer service.
• Helps with planning and implementing programs.
• Assists with class area set-up and clean-up and facility maintenance.

Senior Swim Instructor Qualifications

• Certification as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (or equivalent certification from another agency) and certification in Lifeguard Training is preferred.
• At least one year of prior experience teaching learn to swim or water fitness courses, or equivalent instructional experience.

Pay

• Swim Instructor: Starting salary is $18.75 hourly.
• Senior Swim Instructor: Starting salary is $19.27 hourly.

Schedule

• Work hours may include early mornings, evenings and weekends.
