Swim Instructor
About the role
The Instructor Trainer’s primary responsibility is to teach, coach, and train the aquatics program at British Swim School. They ensure all instructors are knowledgeable and confident in their teaching, and are capable of being in the water as needed.
Responsibilities
- Follow British Swim School curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons.
- Establish and maintain relationships with students' parents and/or guardians.
- Teach British Swim School lessons with encouragement and positive reinforcement.
- Train and mentor new instructors on the British Swim School aquatics program.
- Maintain certifications throughout employment.
- Work evening and weekend hours as determined by business needs.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to instruct swimming lessons within a structured program.
- Willingness to undergo a background check.
- Comfortable in and around the water. Previous swimming experience preferred.
- Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred but not required; willing to train.
- Experience working with children.
