British Swim School is more than a fun, surface-level swim lesson provider. We strive to make a substantial impact within our communities to combat the tragically high child drowning statistics. We invest in quality team members to teach our lessons with the mindset that we are two schools in one: a survival school first and a learn-to-swim school second. Our mission is “to ensure that every person, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to become a safe and happy swimmer.”

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should enjoy working with this age group and be skilled at making parents feel comfortable. Experience with children or in a child-focused job is helpful but not required if you can demonstrate the right attitude.

Each franchise location is independently owned and operated by a franchisee. Your application will go directly to the franchisee, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of that franchise location.

About the Role

As a swim instructor, you will teach fun, progressive swim lessons to children and adults starting at 3 months old, following the British Swim School aquatics program. You’ll be assigned to a class schedule developed by the manager(s) and interact with swimmers and their parents or guardians.

You’ll report directly to and support the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s). The role involves working in a team of fun-loving people who are serious about saving lives while enjoying the process. We look for bright, energetic individuals willing to take on new challenges and juggle multiple tasks with enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards.
• Maintain all required certifications throughout employment.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3pm–7pm), weekends (8am–1pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
• Work in an environment with moderate to high noise levels and be in the water for the duration of the shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
• Enthusiastic personality and comfort in and around the water.
• Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed.
• Must maintain certifications throughout employment.
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Swimming experience: 1–2 years preferred but not required.
• Customer service skills: 1 year preferred.
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (can be obtained during training).

Pay

$15.00 per hour.
