About the role
The Swim Coach supports the development and training of the club’s swimming activities while providing individual swimming lessons to members and guests. This role works closely with the aquatics team to ensure a safe, engaging, and enjoyable experience for members and guests.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safety, foster a positive atmosphere, and deliver high-quality instruction
- Connect with members regularly and promote aquatic club activities
- Create a personalized experience for members by providing towels and water service during their use of the aquatic facilities
- Promote the facility amenities, programs, and the club while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service
- Absorb and implement design of swim practices as outlined by the manager and always maintain supervision of the group, including monitoring development for swimmers
- Attend swimming meets and warm-up sessions as scheduled
- Absorb and implement setup of the pool for training sessions while ensuring the area remains accessible for non-swimming team members
- Help in overseeing the completion of daily assignments in designated areas to uphold club standards and align with the Star Service FOCUS expectations
- Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role
- Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations
- Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team’s success
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years of experience coaching swimmers of various ages and skill levels
- Must be ASCA or USA swimming certified
- Certification in CPR, first aid, and AED within the last 6 months
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, members, and guests
Qualifications
- Frequent swimming, sitting, standing, walking, and driving
- Occasional exposure to temperature changes, dust, fumes, or gases
- Squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, and bending
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 lbs. on occasion
- Talking, hearing, and seeing
