About the role

The Special Education Classroom Aide/Paraprofessional at Swift Middle School supports students with diverse learning needs. This position involves providing instructional assistance, behavioral support, and accommodations to help students succeed academically and socially. The ideal candidate should demonstrate patience, flexibility, and a strong commitment to supporting middle school learners in an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students in special education classes
• Assist with classroom management and behavior support
• Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Work collaboratively with teachers, other paraprofessionals, and staff to ensure student success
• Support students' social and emotional development

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Pass a background check
• Valid driver's license (if transportation is required)
