About the Role

As a Swahili Linguist – Social Media Analyst, you will support a social media program in Tampa, FL by leveraging native Swahili language expertise and regional knowledge. You will serve as a natively fluent Swahili specialist, analyzing publicly available online information to enhance mission understanding.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain expertise in designated regional issues, applying cultural and linguistic knowledge to support mission objectives.
• Read, analyze, and draft communications regarding regional and ideological discussions within specified foreign-language media environments.
• Examine current media statements and postings to support trend analysis and identify key communicators across online ecosystems.
• Demonstrate reading and writing expertise in Swahili, incorporating custom social media solutions to comprehend online environments and communicate trends effectively.
• Support operations planning by applying regional insights and linguistic expertise.
• Utilize working knowledge of online social media platforms and technologies for monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
• Document activities, analytical notes, informative papers, and whitepapers in English with accuracy and clarity for multiple audiences.
• Work nonstandard hours and remain on-call as mission requirements dictate.
• Travel may be required (less than 10%).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required; experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Minimum DoD Secret clearance required; select positions require TS/SCI.
• Native or near-native Swahili fluency.
• Strong written communication skills in both Swahili and English.
• Familiarity with social media platforms, online communities, and digital communication trends.
• Ability to perform foreign-language media analysis.
• Willingness to work nonstandard hours, on-call, and travel as required.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $77,350 - $104,650, depending on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
