Swahili Interpreter

About the role

We are seeking fully-bilingual foreign language interpreters to provide in-person interpretation for our local Nebraska clients. This is an opportunity to use your cultural knowledge to help non-English speakers in your community with flexible hours and great job satisfaction.

Requirements

• Fully bilingual
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality/HIPAA compliance
• IN PERSON interpreters only; must have transportation to attend appointments locally
• Technical skills for learning/using online portal (printing and uploading vouchers required)
• Must have access to a printer
• Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred
• Background checks and drug screens required

Schedule

PRN (as needed), part-time (or less depending on languages spoken) with flexible hours based on interpreter's availability and preferences. Applicants must have some availability Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM as this is when services are typically needed.

Position type

Independent contractor with flexible hours; hours are not guaranteed and are based on availability, languages spoken, and client needs.
