Responsibilities
- Lead the organization in all aspects of upstream marketing and portfolio management.
- Guide the team in the concept and development for new products, product enhancements and product design.
- Create and prioritize a list of initiatives to grow the business during the first 30 days of employment.
- Support the creation and execution plan to achieve the long term strategy, working closely with the President of Diagnostics and their respective team to articulate that vision internally and externally.
- Evaluate and refine the list of initiatives based on experimentation and customer feedback.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to deliver on business goals for the Tempus Diagnostics portfolio.
- Ensure the clinical and research market narrative reflects a broad portfolio of offerings, including a data-first genomics foundation, as well as emerging market needs.
- Plan and formulate aspects of research and development proposals, ensuring appropriate resource availability and prioritization, including contingency planning.
- Monitor competitive intelligence and customer feedback to identify and act on new threats and opportunities.
- Communicate progress and escalate potential delays with proposed solutions.
- Evaluate new business partnership opportunities to deliver new offerings to customers or open new channels to sell.
- Oversee the implementation of new partnerships, foster strong relationships and manage performance of the partnership.
- Develop short, medium and long term strategies for business growth across the end to end customer experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; a postgraduate qualification (e.g., Ph.D., MBA, MS) will be a distinct advantage.
- 15+ years of experience in analytical roles such as business strategy, finance, sales operations, and/or business intelligence, including 8+ years of experience in commercial strategy and/or product management.
- 8+ years of experience managing direct reports.
- Strong business acumen, including the ability to translate data insights into action plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solutions-oriented and biased to action.
- Commercial experience in oncology and related segments, with clinician-facing products, and/or within a life sciences organization.
