RemoteRemoteMarketingFull-time

We are a technology-driven company built to empower people and improve their organizations through smart, simple payment processing tools and products. Backed by world-class experts and top technology talent, we help businesses grow by bridging the gap between online merchants and payment solutions. Our mission is to provide the tools companies need to transform their future.

About the role

The Senior Vice President of Marketing (SVP) owns Payarc's marketing function as a revenue-first, lead-generation engine and is directly accountable for marketing's contribution to the combined sales plan, both domestically and internationally. Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer, the SVP sets the annual marketing plan and marketing's contribution to gross profit, with Agent and ISV channel growth as top revenue priorities.

This role focuses on identifying and prioritizing strategic marketing efforts that support revenue initiatives, setting the overall marketing vision, leading a high-performing team, and presenting marketing strategy, performance, and results directly to the Board of Directors. The SVP owns the full marketing-side revenue motion—from lead generation through MQL, lead scoring, re-warming loops, and outbound infrastructure—while maintaining brand, reputation, and creative output in service of revenue outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Marketing Leadership & Board Governance
    • Set the company's overall marketing vision and long-range strategic plan, aligning marketing investment with enterprise growth objectives.
    • Identify and prioritize marketing strategic efforts that most directly support revenue initiatives across domestic and international markets.
    • Lead, mentor, and scale a global marketing team to support growth in existing and new international markets.
    • Present marketing strategy, performance, and investment recommendations directly to the Board of Directors and executive leadership.
    • Lead marketing integration, brand harmonization, and go-to-market alignment for merger and acquisition activity.
  • Revenue Ownership & Planning
    • Own the annual marketing plan and marketing's contribution to the combined sales plan, with gross profit as the headline currency.
    • Set and deliver marketing-focused KPIs and OKRs across all sales channels—lead generation, conversion, and gross profit contribution.
    • Own marketing-sourced production across all sales channels.
  • Demand Generation & Lead Management
    • Own lead generation through MQL across a multi-channel, email-anchored program.
    • Own lead scoring frameworks and the re-warming loop for not-ready and bounced-back leads.
    • Manage the MQL-to-SQL handoff gate with Business Development and ensure accountability for conversion quality.
    • Stay engaged post-handoff through marketing journeys, education, activation, and ongoing gross profit.
  • Revenue Systems & Marketing Operations
    • Own CRM and revenue operations infrastructure (HubSpot) as marketing-held revenue infrastructure, including administration, automation, attribution, and reporting.
    • Own data governance and reporting standards across marketing systems.
  • Team Leadership & Operating Model
    • Build, manage, and develop the marketing team; set priorities, due dates, and performance expectations.
    • Run an AI-supported model to scale marketing output.
    • Manage marketing team priorities, capacity, budget, vendor stack, and contractor allocation.
  • Brand, Reputation & Industry Presence
    • Maintain brand standards, reputation management, and website performance in service of revenue outcomes.
    • Represent Payarc at industry events and trade shows; own event ROI.
    • Develop partner relationships that produce case studies, testimonials, and co-marketing opportunities.

Performance Measures

  • Operating north star: marketing-sourced gross profit across all sales channels.
  • Financial anchors: MQL, SQL, signed partners and customers, processing volume, revenue.
  • Quality gates: MQL-to-SQL conversion rate and activation conversion rate, lead scoring.
  • Leading indicator: MQL-Activation conversation rate.

Skills

  • Demonstrated ownership of a sourced revenue or pipeline number, not solely brand or program metrics.
  • Deep payments industry fluency—agent/ISO channel dynamics, residual economics, ISV/SaaS partnership models.
  • Hands-on HubSpot proficiency: workflows, lead scoring, attribution, and reporting; ability to direct RevOps work credibly.
  • Working command of AI tools in marketing production (brand management, lead generation, project management, CRM management, etc.).
  • Direct, accountable communication style; comfortable operating against hard due dates and a documented priorities system.
  • Able to lead a small team through scale.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of extensive payments marketing experience, including 5+ years in executive-level (SVP and above) marketing leadership roles.
  • Payments, fintech, or merchant services industry experience required; agent/ISO or ISV channel marketing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience marketing both B2B payments solutions (e.g., agent/ISO, ISV, integrated software, merchant acquiring) and B2C payments solutions (e.g., consumer checkout, digital wallets, e-commerce).
  • International marketing experience required, including demonstrated success developing and executing strategy across multiple regions or global markets.
  • Experience working within publicly traded and private equity-backed companies.
  • Track record of building demand generation programs measured on sourced pipeline and revenue.
  • Merger and acquisition experience, including marketing due diligence, brand integration, and post-acquisition go-to-market alignment (highly preferred).
  • Established presence in payments industry networks and trade associations (preferred).
  • Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) in Marketing, Business, or a related field (required).

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Travel to trade shows, partner meetings, company events, and industry conferences as needed.
