As an SVP Group Strategy Director, you will lead strategic visions for clients and drive new business, agency transformation, and growth. You will be essential to the continued success of our fully integrated creative work across experiential, social, digital, and traditional channels in both B2B and B2C.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategies and major market initiatives, audience, and connections plans.
- Orchestrate business-driving, culture-landing ideas and map them to commercial impact.
- Become a trusted partner of integrated teams across McCann NY (McCann Content Studios, Audience + Connections, Truth Central) and a revered leader across the agency.
- Build client relationships that fuel trust.
- Stay involved in the finance, scoping, and staffing side of running your business.
- Monitor the business and cultural context around your brands, proactively bringing challenges, opportunities, and solutions to the table.
- Play a key role in new business pitches with minimal oversight from EVP/CSO.
- Demonstrate expertise in brand, digital, social, comms, data, and experiential strategies.
- Drive fresh, original ideas rooted in culture, human insight, and business insight.
- Develop strong working relationships with counterparts in Business Leadership, Growth, and Clients to drive business forward.
- Steward creative ideas from theory to reality.
- Develop thought leadership pieces.
- Deploy and ensure the use, adoption, and learning of proprietary strategic tools including Truth Central, Truth 2 Impact, McCann Content Studio, and the Audience and Connections Practice.
- Be a strong manager and mentor, fostering the growth of a diverse team of strategists.
- Take a leadership role in department activities and creative acceleration processes (The Heat, Gotham Soup, Dept meetings).
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including previous agency experience.
- A track record of brilliant thinking that leads to unexpected, truly creative work.
- Culturally plugged in; nimble, inspired, and scrappy gatherer of information.
- Crisp thinker and communicator—verbally, visually, and in writing.
- Mastery of storytelling and presenting, with the ability to teach it.
- Strength of conviction for your thinking, balanced by an open ear and mind.
- See strategy as a team sport, leveraging expertise in brand, digital, social, comms, data, behavioral, and experiential strategy.
- Collaborative with creative and account management leads, partner agencies, and clients.
- Versatile in modern strategy principles: creative, audience, and business.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area (not necessarily advertising).

Pay
The salary range for this position is $230,000–$250,000. Compensation within this range depends on factors such as experience, qualifications, market considerations, and budgetary constraints.
Schedule
Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, with potential for additional in-office days as directed by the agency or manager.
