Responsibilities
- Greet and seat all guests in a hospitable, friendly, and timely manner.
- Handle all incoming telephone calls before the third ring, using professional verbiage and with a positive and uplifting tone.
- Maintain a clean entrance area, host stand, and women's restroom.
- Manage reservations system, including seating within reservation times, quoting proper wait times when necessary, and avoiding over or under-booking the restaurant.
- Escort guests to their assigned table while engaging in light conversation and providing a hospitable start to their dining experience.
- Interact with all guests and co-workers in a professional, hospitable, and friendly manner.
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, ready to work, wearing the proper uniform at all times (including dress, makeup, hair, and jewelry).
- Properly accept and book reservations, offering alternative time slots when the desired time is unavailable.
- Calculate, note, and quote accurate wait times, offering the bar for cocktails and appetizers when waits are extensive.
- Keep floors, entry, and aisle ways clean and free of debris.
- Assist in bussing tables when needed to accommodate immediate seating.
- Provide guest right of way and assist guests needing directions around the restaurant.
- Genuinely thank all departing guests for dining with us and welcome all incoming guests.
- Be familiar with all restaurant information to answer guest questions or address concerns, including hours of operation, menu items, price range, directions, and contact information.
- Answer all phone calls, fulfill guest needs, place calls on hold when needed, and direct calls to the proper department.
- Stay informed about daily menu additions, musical performances, and cocktail or wine features for the evening.
Qualifications
- Fun, energetic, and professional attitude at all times while working.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Prior restaurant experience is desired but not required.
