Responsibilities

• Greet and seat all guests in a hospitable, friendly, and timely manner
• Handle all incoming telephone calls before the third ring, using professional verbiage and with a positive and uplifting tone
• Maintain a clean entrance area, hostess stand, and women's restroom
• Manage reservations system, including seating within reservation times, quoting proper wait times when necessary, and avoiding over or under-booking the restaurant
• Escort guests to their assigned table while engaging in light conversation and providing a hospitable start to their dining experience
• Interact with all guests and co-workers in a professional, hospitable, and friendly manner
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, ready to work
• Wear proper uniform at all times, including dress, makeup, hair, and jewelry
• Properly accept and book reservations, offering alternative time slots when desired times are unavailable
• Calculate, note, and quote accurate wait times
• Offer the bar for cocktails and appetizers when wait times are extensive
• Keep floors, entry, and aisle ways clean and free of debris
• Assist in bussing tables when needed to turn tables quickly
• Provide guest right of way and assist guests needing directions around the restaurant
• Genuinely thank all departing guests and welcome all arriving guests
• Be familiar with all restaurant information to answer guest questions or address concerns
• Answer all phone calls, fulfill guest needs, place calls on hold, or direct calls to the proper department
• Communicate important information to managers on duty
• Know hours of operation, menu items, price range, directions, contact information, and other basic restaurant details
• Provide information on daily menu additions, musical performances, and cocktail or wine features for the evening

Qualifications

• Fun, energetic, and professional attitude at all times while working
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Prior restaurant experience is desired but not required
