Sushi Maker - Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant

Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi rice and ingredients for sushi rolls.
• Roll, shape, and assemble sushi dishes according to recipes.
• Ensure the freshness and quality of all sushi products.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the sushi preparation area.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sushi Maker or similar role preferred but not required. Training provided.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Pay

Pay Grades (Plus approximately $2 to $4 per hour in tips, depending on sales and shifts worked, higher tips on weekend shifts):

• Sushi III - Trainee through ability to work maki rolling station expertly: $16 - $18/hr.
• Sushi II - Ability to work maki and nigiri stations expertly: $18 - $21/hr.
• Sushi I - Ability to work maki, nigiri, fish cutting stations expertly: $20 - $24/hr.
