About the role
The Multnomah Athletic Club is more than just a sports hub; it's a vibrant community offering diverse amenities including four restaurants, three pools, a climbing gym, and various event spaces.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and fabricates items for use in the kitchen according to established recipes and procedures.
- Stores product as received and rotates stock according to established procedures.
- Maintains coolers and storage areas and ensures cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all areas.
- Keeps workstation clean, sanitary, and orderly in accordance with health department regulations.
- Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Fulfills recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as established by the Executive Chef.
- Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift.
- Prepares dishes for members and guests with food allergies and intolerances.
- Works at an efficient and consistent pace.
- Complies with all Club safety policies and procedures demonstrating safe work practices.
- Identifies and reports unsafe or hazardous work conditions.
- Reports all workplace injuries and illnesses to supervisor.
- Promotes the MAC code of conduct in club activities and demonstrates the importance of providing quality service to members.
Requirements
- Ability to work at least one station on the line successfully.
- Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal form.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
Qualifications
- One year of line cook experience in a similar environment.
- Possession of valid food-handler’s permit.
- Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
Skills
- Proficiency in culinary arts.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of allergen management and special dietary needs.
