Surveyor

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Train, educate and assist field personnel in the use and operation of Machine Control GPS equipment
• Site localization and set-up, pre-surveys, production surveys and as-builts as necessary
• Verify Machine Control calibrations, maintain and troubleshoot GPS problems when necessary
• Perform site staking/layout and grade checking as necessary
• Produce quantity reports for project managers and superintendents
• Practice good recordkeeping skills for survey logs and records

Requirements

• Strong mathematical skills
• Excellent Communication skills both oral and written when working alongside all levels of management, co-workers, vendors and clients
• Experience with Trimble data collection software & surveying equipment
• Proficient with MS office software
• Experience with drafting software (AutoCAD, Carlson) preferred
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret civil plans and specifications
• Motivated self-starter, team player with the desire to learn and advance
• Willing to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking and standing on uneven terrain and variable weather conditions
• Willing to travel. Moderate to extensive overnight travel
• Possess clean driving record to drive company vehicle

Education And Experience

• AAS/Technical Certificate in Geodetic/Surveying or 1-3 years related field experience
