Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Survey project schedules and forecasts.
- Planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects.
- Direct and perform land based and hydrographic (single-beam, multi-beam, and sonar imaging) surveys.
- On-site safety, directing, and documenting safety meetings.
- Adhere to quality assurance procedures.
- Knowledge of surveying equipment and software.
- Complete project administrative tasks, forms, etc.
- Ensure survey equipment is in good working condition and properly report any deficiencies.
- Operate vehicles, survey vessels, and associated support equipment.
- Aid in the development of survey procedures.
- Aid in the preparation of project scopes and estimates.
- Plan and execute project quality control and assurance procedures.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or certification.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in land surveying.
- Minimum Qualifications: Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in the area of practice. High level leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in the English language.
- Preferred Qualifications: 4-Year degree from an accredited college or university with a course in engineering or closely related field. AutoCAD or MicroStation proficiency. Certified Hydrographer 10hr OSHA General Construction Course.
Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Safety
- The duties of this position require the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
- This position may require the employee to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While in the field, the intern may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time.

COMPENSATION
- The hourly pay range for positions in Kentucky is $24 to $30 an hour, depending on education and relevant experience.
