Surveyor

Job Description

Position Summary: Field Surveyor will lead or be part of a survey crew depending on experience and background. The field surveyor would work closely with Kokosing supervision to provide layout for all facets of highway and building construction. This position would sometimes involve travel during the week beyond the Richmond area depending on the company workload.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Work with Project Managers, Engineers, and other Team Members to coordinate surveying activities for the projects.
• Be able to prioritize layout and do it in an efficient and timely manner.
• Provide input on surveying to satisfy the project’s accuracy requirements.
• Communicate effectively explaining the layout provided.
• Comply with safety regulations, company standards, and government guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience working as a surveyor, ideally on construction projects.
• Proficiency using surveying equipment including levels, robotic instruments, and GPS receivers.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills with willingness to learn and expand knowledge.
• Willingness to learn new surveying techniques.
• Ability to climb ladders, work around traffic, and work in all types of weather conditions.
• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Good driving record.
• Willing to travel.
