About the role
The Surveyor is responsible for surveying the earth's surface to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mining or other purposes under the direction of the Senior Projects Manager and designated engineering staff. They are responsible for measurement, quantification, and record keeping of quantities for payment. Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe work performed. Surveyors are responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and securing his/her Surveying Equipment.
Responsibilities
- Stake out design features for construction
- Gather quantities for upcoming work
- Gather completed Quantities
- Identify anomalies between design and existing site features.
- Maintain communication with project manager
- Understand and be able to use GPS Survey Gear
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Drivers License
- 2+ years surveying experience
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying
- Knowledgeable with Drone Survey
- Trimble Software and Hardware
- Microsoft office (excel, word)
- Adobe Acrobat
- AutoCAD experience
- Upload designed surfaces to GPS systems on heavy equipment
- Hard working
