Responsibilities
- Develops detailed engineering design and performs manual technical work.
- Specifies materials and methods for assigned projects.
- Directs procurement of commercially available products needed for the project.
- Directs installation of materials and commissioning on assigned projects.
- Ensures availability of all appropriate documentation.
- Creates a work plan and complies with safety prerequisites.
- Provides design and installation advice and guidance to peers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
Requirements
- High school diploma with 5+ years of experience in an applicable engineering discipline.
- Associate’s degree preferred.
Skills
- Professional knowledge and experience applying basic theories, concepts, principles, and methodology for practicing in the engineering discipline.
- Professional knowledge of new methods and materials, fabrication planning, procurement management, project commissioning, and budget and staff management.
- Performs basic electrical or mechanical engineering design solutions and techniques.
- Ability to make decisions based on sound engineering principles.
- Communicates cooperatively and effectively with peers, other Laboratory staff, and vendors of materials and services.

Pay
The expected hiring range for this position is $41.43–$50.53 per hour.
