Surveying Field Technician I

About the Role

JMT's Geomatics/Survey department offers an exciting work environment that leverages modern technology (terrestrial/mobile/aerial LiDAR, Drones, robotics, bathymetry, etc.), balanced with sound traditional survey procedures to deliver projects. Assist field crew leaders in performing day-to-day field work.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate survey and SUE equipment
• Assist crew leaders in the performance of daily tasks
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
• Valid Driver's License
• Able to pass Background Check
• Able to work 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday (Minimum)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to bend, kneel, lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed
• Team Attitude / Mindset
• Ability to travel required

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge in field surveying techniques, including data collection, traverse establishment, GNSS surveys, and construction stakeouts

Working Conditions

• Field work is required 95% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
• Out of town travel is possible up to 40% of the time
• Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required as needed
• Some night shift work required

Pay

$18.00 - $22.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications.
